Description | Automatic Energy Auto-EMSS for product iformation sheet EnergyBuddy Auto-EMS is an optional add-on for EnergyBuddy _ that allows it to perform a range of automatic energy management functions. Comprising a suite of new software features, Auto-EMS will help users Save money on their electricity bills while taking in to account preferences for comfort and control. Auto-EMS is deployed via EnergyBuddy Cloud Services and works with a variety of energy sensors and controls, including third party ZigBee controls. Demand Limiting Mode Keeps demand below a user-preset threshold by automatic load shedding: turning off appliances according to the user’s preset priorities until demand drops back below the set threshold. Easy-to-Install The principle requirement is to identify the primary devices and appliances to be monitored / controlled. Typically these are the greediest in the home or small business, such as air conditioning, electric water heaters, pool pumps and so on. Then install compatible energy sensors and load controllers. Total consumption monitoring at the meter or main electrical panel is also recommended (mandatory for Demand Limiting Mode) via direct communication from the EnergyBuddy gateway to a Smart Meter with ZigBee HAN, or via compatible current transformer clamps with a wireless transmitter. Parameters and user preferences for devices and appliances are easily setup via simple web-based screens, including: e Individual device and appliance importance & priority e Cost thresholds for Time-Of-Use (TOU)/dynamic pricing tariffs e Appliance operating times, cycles and user- permissible delays Compatible Energy Sensors and Load Controllers EnergyBuddy and Auto-EMS are compatible with a variety of energy sensors and load controllers, including our own low-cost SmartPlugs and current transformer (CT) clamps with wireless transmitter. The ZigBee version of EnergyBuddy can communicate with any typical ZigBee energy sensor/control that uses Home Automation Profile or Smart Energy Profile.
