OCRText | Frosh enjoy winning season 2a Mrs. Gloria Garza joined the faculty this year, and coaching the freshman volleyball team was her first assignment. I’ve really en- joyed this because the girls really hustle and put all they’ve got into the game,” she said. Team captain Elena Narvarez defended the back line, while Lupe Marez and Dolores Lucero handled the spiking chores. Best servers were Sandra Berumen and Maria Jimenez. Susie Orona was not only a top setter, she also man- aged to keep the team spirit run- ning high. Terry Granillo was noted for her killer serves, and Virginia Martinez was the team’s most im- proved player. Front players were Sandra Vasquez and Claudia Saldivar. The team was tied for first place as the season wound down, but a disappointing loss to Ysleta Junior High left the Bulldogs in second place.
