OCRText | Spikers have tough season "The junior-varsity volleyball season was fairly split with a re- cord of 12 wins and 11 losses. As a new coach, Mr. Jesse Brown had his hands full trying to accustom the girls to his form of coaching. The team opened the season with a depressing loss to Bowie. Mr. Brown considered third place in the Ysleta tournament a re- markable achievement, since there were ten teams competing. As the team progressed toward the end of the season, the most 56 Volleyball exciting games were against Coro- nado and Riverside. After observing the girls throughout the season, Mr. Brown said he considered Lupe Maldon- ado, Norma Navarette, Maria Alba and Diane Delage to be the _most aggressive and hard-working players. Mr. Brown added that he feels the girls have improved con- siderably since their last season, and is looking forward to a much more exciting season next year. m4 (1} After upsetting Hanks, the Bulldogs unite on the court.
