OCRText | The fashion The Socorro Fashion scene was a combination of many styles. Such styles as new wave, western, preppy, and cholo were often seen around the campus. Socorro’s New Wave style en- thusiast’s selections ran from strik- ing greens, purples and pinks to black leather boots, excessive jew- elry and lots of makeup. The New Wave fashion is a very strange and exciting style which also character- izes its wearers. Among some of the garb seen at Soccorro were famous labels such as Jordache, Sassoon, Calvin Klein, Sergio Valente and Oleg Cassini, which all went well with exotic skinned Tony Lama boots, 83 Clothing conscience and to top it all off with style, a cowboy hat. Styles varied; the Preppy look returned with tremendous force. Blazers, plaid skirts and stand up collars went well with penny loaf- ers. Various emblems appeared in Socorro; among them were foxes, O.P.s, Izods, Polos and Vans. Cholos went clean all the way with their neatly ironed shirts and khakis, suspenders and tanditas which added to their traditional ar- ray. But above all came the good old Bulldog style which consisted of comfortable, worn out jeans, t-shirt and Nikes. |
