| OCRText | student council governs school Student Council is important to the student body. Without this group there would be no an- nouncements on the marquee to announce school events. They have sponsored an award for the best student of the month. The canned food drive and the annual Christmas program are other sponsored events. The Student Council's purpose is to coordinate other clubs. They work with the fac- ulty and the student body to helo make Socorro High a much better school. 4.
